Is there wifi in your accommodations?

Yes, we have free wifi (wireless internet) in all our accommodations.
Sogndal and Førde If you live in Sogndal or Førde, you can find information about this on the page dedicated to your accommodation.
Bergen, Haugesund and Stord We provide free internet from Telia in all our accommodations. You will have your own router and network, and there is also wireless internet in several of our common areas.
👉Note: As a new resident in Bergen, you must complete a mandatory fire safety course before your internet access is opened.
Username and password You can find the username and password for the wireless router either under the router or inside the door frame of your accommodation. If you can't find this information, please contact Telia.

I am on the waiting list for a group session at Trene Sammen, what do I need to do?

Wait for the SMS We will send you an SMS no later than 1.5 hours before the session starts if you have secured a spot. If so, please show up at the usual time💪
1.5 hours before the session starts We clear the waiting list 90 minutes before the commencement. Occasionally, spots may become available at the last minute. These openings are accessible for those present at the gym just before the session begins.
Can I cancel my tenancy agreement?

Right of Withdrawal You have a right of withdrawal for 14 days from the date of signing. This means you can cancel your contract free of charge and without any reason within 14 days after signing it.
Cancellation At the time of allocation for the start of studies, we have an extended cancellation deadline. This is based on when everyone receives their first response from the centralized admission service (Samordna opptak), allowing you to cancel the agreement if you decide not to study where you have been allocated student housing. For 2024, this deadline for students with ordinairy admission is 23rd of July, and you must provide documentation that you will not be a student at the institution when you submit your cancellation. For exchange programs this deadline is 24th of June.
👉 In other cases, you have a three-month commitment period from the start of the contract, and a three-month notice period after this.

How long does it take before I receive a response to my housing application?

For those who have applied for housing from August, we start sending out lease agreements from May 15th, but it may take a few weeks to receive a response during that period.
For the rest of the year, we send out lease agreements as soon as possible. Remember to check your email.
I paid my rent invoice twice, what do I do?

Unless you have previously arranged advance payment for multiple rents, the extra amount will be refunded to you automatically. This process will take a few days due to interbank transfers. If payment is made on or before the weekend, please allow for a few extra days.
What is the fire safety course?

The digital fire safety course will teach you everything about fire safety for your student accommodation in Bergen. The course must be completed to get internet access at your student housing. The fire safety course will automatically appear when you connect to the internet. If it doesn't show up, simply enter a randomly chosen address (e.g., sammen.no).
Can I freeze my gym membership with Trene Sammen?

Of course, you can! 😊
Freeze your membership for up to one month You can freeze your membership without any reason or documentation, once per year, up to one month. Contact us and we will fix it.
Freezing your membership for more than one month To freeze your membership for more than one month, you must send us the desired period and documentation explaining why you want to freeze. Valid documents may include a medical certificate or confirmation of practical training or exchange programs for students.
What do I do if I have bedbugs or other pests in my accommodation?

Let us know as soon as possible in our contact form. It's completely free for you to get rid of the pests. Sammen covers pest control, freezing, replacement of beds, and bedding in the situations where it is necessary.

Can I request a housing exchange?

You can apply for a housing exchange on My Page. Applications are prioritized based on the application date and the reason for wanting to switch.
👉 Please be aware that you will have to pay rent for both accommodations during the overlap period, plus a fee for facilitating the exchange.
Where can I find my rent invoice?

You can find the invoice you've received from us on My Page. Here's how to navigate:
  1. Find the invoice by selecting the invoice overview.
  2. The payment information can be found by opening the actual invoice file.
  3. IBAN and BIC/SWIFT can be found at the very bottom of the invoice.
  4. You can find the history by removing "show only unpaid" and searching
How long can I stay in my student accommodation?

You can stay with us for up to five years, but you need to sign a new contract each year.
An offer for a new tenancy agreement for the next school year is normally sent out in March.
What do I do if I have special needs that need to be considered in the housing allocation?

You can send relevant documentation and medical records to us explaining why you need special accommodation in your student housing. Make sure we receive the documentation by May 5th if you're applying for housing for the fall semester.
Due to privacy concerns, such documentation must be sent by mail or delivered in person. Be sure to send it to the office corresponding to the location where you have applied for housing.

Do you have accommodations tailored to various special needs?

Yes, we have specific student accommodations that are adapted for people with mobility impairments.
At some of our student accommodations, we have designated parking spaces for disabled individuals. You can contact us through My Page to inquire about the availability of accessible parking spaces at your building and to get approval for parking.
Can I change the due date on the invoice from Trene Sammen?

Unfortunately, it is not possible for us to change the due date.
Can someone else pick up my keys for my student accommodation?

Yes, but remember that if you have someone else pick up the keys for you, you need to submit a request through My Page with the name of that person. This way, we'll know it's okay with you.
What happens if I don't pay the housing invoice by the due date?

If we do not receive payment by the due date, the debt collection agency Intrum will first send you a collection notice. If this remains unpaid, you will receive a collection claim. It's crucial to pay as soon as possible to avoid consequences that could potentially lead to credit remarks or the loss of your student housing.
Weurge you to get in touch with us via the contact form as early as possible if you foresee payment difficulties.
👉PS: Additional fees and interest will be incurred on both the collection notice and the collection claim.
How long is the notice period at Trene Sammen?

The notice period is one month from the first of the following month, regardless of whether you have a membership with or without a binding period.
Memberships with binding period For memberships with a binding period, you must be a member for a minimum of twelve paying months before you can avail yourself of the notice period.
👉 Remember: after the binding period is over, the membership continues until you personally cancel or modify it.
Moving? We understand that plans change. If you are relocating and have a binding period, you can cancel your membership by providing us with relevant documentation, such as a formal change of address.
Am I allowed to have pets in my student accommodation?

No, unfortunately, pets are not allowed in our accommodations. Exceptions are made for guide dogs.
How do I change my membership at Trene Sammen?

Have you become a student? Congratulations! You can switch to a student membership by telling us in our contact form.
Done with studies You are welcome to continue training with us even if you have finished studying. Please contact us to change your membership to a regular one.
How do I transfer Trene Sammen's AvtaleGiro to my new bank account?

If you have changed the bank account associated with your AvtaleGiro (direct debit), you can do the following to transfer the AvtaleGiro:
  • Cancel Sammen's AvtaleGiro in your online banking.
  • Wait for three business days.
  • Set up a new agreement in iBooking using the link below.
Why am I not receiving emails from you?

There could be several reasons, but the most common one is that the email might be in your spam folder. Please check there and add us to your safe sender list.
Can I climb without a climbing card at Trene Sammen?

No, you cannot climb or belay others without a climbing card with us. However, you are welcome to boulder at Trene Sammen at Fantoft. If you lack a climbing card, you can take a course with us at Fantoft and Lehmkuhl. The courses run several times a month.
If you have the necessary experience, you only need to complete the actual climbing card test. Contact the reception at Fantoft to arrange a time.
What do I do if I can't pay my invoice?

Difficulties in paying the original invoice by the due date?
It's important to pay by the due date, but we understand unforeseen circumstances can make this challenging. We would like you to contact us via our contact form as soon as you foresee difficulties in paying, so that we can find a solution.
Difficulties paying a collection notice or claim? If you have received a collection notice or claim from Intrum, you must address them regarding the amount and payment information. We recommend contacting them to establish a repayment plan as soon as possible.
You can log in to Intrum for information and an overview of your cases.
What do I need to do to avoid "no-show" for the group sessions at Trene Sammen?

We understand that things don't always go as planned 😅 However, we still want you to cancel your group session if something comes up so that we can give your spot to someone else.
If you accumulate three "no-shows," you will have to pay a fee at the reception before you can use online booking again. Therefore, make sure to:
  1. Cancel at least two hours before the session starts
  2. Retrieve your ticket from our booking screens, no later than five minutes before the session starts
Can you store furniture that I don't want to have in my student accommodation?

Unfortunately, we don't have space for storing furniture for you. You can store it elsewhere safely, but it's important that all furniture owned by Sammen is in the same condition and properly placed when you move out.
I have lost my keys or left the key at home. What can I do?

Don't panic, we'll help you. During our opening hours, you can call the switchboard on +4755545000. If it is during a weekend or at night and Sammen is not available, call Securitas on tel. +4722881479.
When Securitas helps with these cases, you will receive an invoice from them. If there is a system error in the lock that prevents you from getting in, you will of course not have to pay for this.
Can I use my gym membership at other student welfare organizations?

As long as you have an active membership with Trene Sammen or one of our partners on the West Coast, you can use guest training for free at other student welfare organizations during the summer vacation and up to 15 times throughout the rest of the year.
Can I make changes to my housing application after it has been submitted?

Yes, you can make changes to your application until you are assigned a student accommodation. Making changes will not affect your placement in the waiting list.
What do I need to clean in my home accommodation before moving out?

When moving out, it's important to clean your accommodation thoroughly so that it's tidy and clean for the next student moving in.
I have expressed interest in an available student housing via email. Will I get the room I want?

Only when you have signed a contract with us is the accommodation guaranteed to be yours.
Regularly in August, everyone who has applied for housing will receive an email from us with information about available units. Therefore, make sure to check your email and respond promptly when we request it. Even if you have replied to this email, unfortunately, it does not guarantee you the accommodation.
What is the lower age limit at Trene Sammen?

Anyone aged 15 and above can become a member. If you are under 18, you must be accompanied by a guardian when purchasing a membership online or at the reception.
Children between 13 and 15 years can train for free with us, but only when accompanied by a guardian. Maximum one child per guardian.
What do I do if I discover an error or damage in my accommodation or in the common areas?

Please inform us of any issues, damages, or deficiencies in your student accommodation through My Page, and we'll take care of it. If there are situations that cannot wait, you can call our emergency hotline.

Can I sublet my accommodation while I am on exchange?

If you wish to sublet your accommodation while you for example are on exchange, this is possible.
You will still be the tenant and responsible to us if anything happens during the subletting period. The subtenant must be a student and pay semester fee to a "studentsamskipnad" in Norway. You cannot sublet your home to a student who already has a contract with Sammen. Subletting needs to be approved by Sammen before you can sublet your accommodation.
It may be a good idea to write a contract together with the sub-tenant when it comes to to paying rent, cleaning, handing over keys, etc.
If you want to sublet, you need to send an inquiry via our contact form with the following information about the subtenant:
• Name • Phone number • Email • Subletting period • Proof that the subtenant is a student (student ID, etc.)
Do you offer a dormitory in August if I am without housing?

Yes, In Bergen we will offer accommodation in a dormitory at Fantoft in the period 5th to 31st of August if you still haven’t received an offer for accommodation by the start of your studies. This offer costs NOK 2,000 for the whole period. We open up for reservations from the 1st of August and you must reserve a mattress 24 hours before arrival via our contact form (select the categories Housing, Bergen and Other).
I have paid the invoice for housing, but it still shows unpaid on My Page.

If you've paid using e-Invoice or bank transfer, it may take a few days before your payment is registered. During weekends and public holidays, additional time should be considered. But don't worry – we take this into account before any reminders are sent, if necessary.
How do I pay my housing invoice?

Invoice for housing can be paid either by card or via bank transfer through online banking/Vipps.
Card Payment
You can directly pay your invoice on My Page using Visa or Mastercard by selecting 'pay now'.
Online Banking
You can make the payment through your online banking. For Norwegian bank accounts you need to use our account number and KID number. For foreign accounts you need to use IBAN and BIC/Swift. Make sure to use the invoice number or agreement number (both on your invoice) as a note on your payment so we know what it's regarding. All payment details can be found on the bottom of your invoice. If you have a Norwegian bank account with e-invoice, it needs to be approved monthly to proceed with payment.
👉PS: Payment via the Vipps app is only applicable for invoice payments. We do not accept direct payments through Vipps.
My accommodation was dirty/damaged when I moved in. What should I do?

If you discover that your accommodation is dirty or has damages upon moving in, you can register an inquiry with us through My Page.
How do I receive an offer for housing?

If you receive an offer for student accommodation from us, you will be notified by email. To accept the offer, you sign it with BankID or SMS before the deadline.
Am I allowed to hang anything on the walls in my student accommodation?

To keep our walls in good condition, most of our residences have picture rails where you can hang pictures and posters. It's not allowed to attach anything to the walls that leaves marks.
Can I live in student housing with children?

Yes, if you have or are expecting children, you can apply for family housing. We have family accommodations throughout Vestlandet.
Where can I find my membership number at Trene Sammen?

You can find your membership number on "My Page" in the Membro app. Click on "Membership card" to find your number.
Do you offer short-term rental of student accommodations?

Yes, you can apply for short-term rental if you plan to stay for a maximum of 12 weeks. There are different prices and options for short-term rental in our various accommodations.
How do I cancel my membership with Trene Sammen?

Membership without commitment If you wish to cancel your membership, do so quickly and easily by logging into My Page.
There is a one-month notice period, so you can continue to use the facilities for the next month. For instance, if you cancel your membership in May, you can use the facilities until the end of June.
I can't access the Trene Sammen app, what should I do?

There could be several reasons why you are unable to log into our app. Please check the following:
  • Have you created a password? The first time you log in, create one by clicking "forgot password".
  • Do you have too many no-shows? Your account may be blocked until you pay the fee at one of our receptions.
  • Is the app up to date? Try uninstalling and reinstalling it if necessary.
  • Do we have the correct phone number registered on your account? Check with us at the reception or contact us.
Can I receive invoices for housing via Autogiro or e-invoice?

Unfortunately, we do not have the option for Autogiro (automatic debit), but you can receive eInvoice to a Norwegian bank account as long as you are registered with us using a Norwegian ID-number. If so, please ensure that you have enabled the receipt of e-Invoices in Vipps or online banking.
Registering Your Personal ID-number We can add your Norwegian ID-number if you're not already registered with it. Send the information via My Page, under 'additional information,' and we'll take care of it for you.

What happens when the binding period for my membership with Trene Sammen expires?

Monthly deductions continue after the binding period expires, but from now on, you can change or terminate your membership with one month's notice.
Do I need home contents insurance when living in one of your student accommodations?

Yes, we recommend having both home contents insurance and travel insurance while living in student accommodation.
👉 Before purchasing your own insurance policies, it's advisable to check if you're covered by your parent's insurance. You will often be covered if you are registered at their address.
