Many men aspire to improve their sense of self. Some grapple with low self-esteem, feeling less valuable than others, and may keep this to themselves. Many compare themselves to others, feeling less interesting, smart, invisible, or excluded from the community. Often, the root of these issues can be traced back to upbringing or painful experiences that have left deep marks. Such negative thoughts can be linked to both academic and social aspects, affecting our relationships with others and ourselves.
While these difficulties are universal, this is a group specifically designed for male participants, as it may provide a better space for sharing experiences among men.
This group is for you if you typically struggle with:
Constantly criticizing and condemning yourself
Undermining your own worth
Setting unrealistically high standards for yourself
Asserting yourself, expressing your opinions, and needs
Taking care of yourself, setting boundaries, or saying no to others
Showing vulnerability and expressing emotions
Letting life be too much influenced by external demands and others' expectations rather than your own desires and needs
The goal of the group is to provide an opportunity for you to work on accepting and valuing yourself a bit more. We will share experiences, reflect on themes like self-respect and self-esteem, and use exercises and homework. The group is a supportive arena to motivate each other for personal development.
