Problems with internet

Here are some tips and tricks if you have problems getting online in Bergen, Haugesund and Stord
1. Check the internet connection:
  1. Make sure the cable in the wall is connected to the correct port on the router (WAN).
  2. Check that all the lights on the router are green. If not, try resetting the router: Find a small hole on the back of the router and gently press in with a pen for 5 seconds. Leave the router for 3 minutes before trying to connect again.
2. Connect to wifi:
  1. Connect the router to your own accommodation (the fire course does not work on other networks than your own). You will find the username and password for the wireless router either under the router, or inside the door frame of your home. If you cannot find this information, contact Telia and they will help you further.
  2. If you get questions about changing username and password, both the username and password are "home". Once you are logged in, you can change this.
  3. If you still have trouble connecting to the network, try connecting the cable directly to your computer and repeat the process. Do not use a mobile phone.
3. Troubleshooting:
  1. Browser problems: - Clear your browser's history (cache) and try again. - Try a different browser (Edge, Chrome, Firefox or Safari). - Close all browser windows, open the browser, and enter a random address, such as sammen.no. This may redirect you to the fire course.
  2. No access: - If you get an error message that the page was not found, it may indicate that you are not connected to the correct network. - If you have unplugged the router and waited at least two minutes before plugging it back in, and the problem persists, you can try resetting the router again.
4. Fire course:
Once connected to the router, you will automatically be taken to the course page when you try to go to a website. If not, enter: https://nettkurs.tiv.no/no/studentlogin, and log in to take the course. After completing the course, the network port will be opened and you can use the internet as usual.
