Sammen Bortigard kindergarten

Location

Our expansive playground is designed for motor skills development and adventuresome play. We take pride in our kitchen garden, fruit trees, and berry bushes. On nature days, we explore the local forests, allowing children to immerse themselves in playful movement and marvel at nature's wonders. We frequently utilize our grill cabins and sheltered fire pits, ensuring memorable nature experiences for all. Conveniently located in Nattland, we are a short distance from Sammen family residences. From Birkelundstoppen, it's a mere 5-minute walk to our kindergarten. For driving parents, we have dedicated parking spaces for smooth drop-offs and pickups.

Divisions

We have four distinct sections, grouped by age during core hours. These divisions are named Saturn, Pluto, Jupiter, and Mars.

Nap Time for Toddlers

All divisions are equipped with indoor/outdoor sleeping areas where children snooze in beds. They relish the fresh air, snug under their quilts. In colder months, we provide extra sleeping bags and sheepskins for warmth.

Art and Nature

Over the years, we've honed our expertise in art and nature. Sustainability has been at the forefront of our educational approach.

Our excellence was recognized with the National Kindergarten Award for Art and Culture in 2017, 2021, and 2023. Our philosophy is inspired by Arne Næss, a philosopher and nature lover. Embracing his belief that "future thoughts must be nature loyal," we promote environmentally friendly daily actions to instill positive attitudes in children.

Meals at the Kindergarten

Children bring their meals, fruits, and vegetables. We serve milk for breakfast and lunch. Throughout the year, we prepare communal meals, emphasizing the joy of eating and culinary culture, often aligning with various traditions and cultural events.

Once a month, our pre-school group focuses on diverse taste experiences and food production, gathering at the "Taste Workshop" to cook a shared meal.

Meal Cost: 100 kroner per month, and 125 kr monthly for pre-school children.
